RADIATOR & COOLING SYSTEM

Radiator & Cooling

A radiator and cooling system keep your car's engine from overheating.

Radiator:

  • It cools down the engine by letting hot coolant flow through it while air passes over it, cooling the coolant.

Cooling System:

  • This system moves coolant through the engine to absorb heat, then through the radiator to release the heat.
  • Water pump moves the coolant, while the thermostat controls when the coolant flows to the radiator.

Together, they make sure the engine stays at the right temperature for smooth operation.

Our Services:

Radiator Repair and Replacement:

Fixing or replacing damaged or leaking radiators.

Cooling System Flush:

Draining old coolant and replacing it with fresh coolant to prevent overheating.

Thermostat and Water Pump Replacement:

Replacing faulty thermostats and water pumps to ensure proper coolant circulation.

Coolant Leak Detection and Repair:

Identifying and fixing leaks in hoses, the radiator, or other parts of the cooling system.

Cooling System Inspections:

Checking the condition of the radiator, hoses, coolant levels, and pressure cap.

Fan Repair/Replacement:

Repairing or replacing cooling fans to ensure they operate efficiently in cooling the engine.

Signs You Have A Cooling Issue :

Engine Overheating:

If the engine temperature gauge rises into the red zone or a warning light comes on, the system might not be functioning properly.

Coolant Leaks:

Puddles or spots of coolant (usually green, orange, or pink) under the vehicle may indicate a leak in the radiator or hoses.

Strange Odor:

A sweet smell from the engine area could mean coolant is leaking, often from a cracked radiator or damaged hose.

Low Coolant Levels:

Frequently needing to top up the coolant could suggest a leak or problem within the cooling system.

Coolant in Oil:

If the engine oil appears milky or frothy, coolant may be leaking into the oil, indicating a potential head gasket failure or radiator issue.

Sluggish Heater:

If your car’s heater is blowing cold air, it could be a sign of a cooling system malfunction.

Unusual Noises:

A high-pitched whining or gurgling sound could be a sign of trapped air in the cooling system or a malfunctioning water pump.

Corrosion or Rust:

Visible rust or corrosion on the radiator, hoses, or coolant reservoir may suggest damage or wear.

If you notice any of these signs, it’s best to get your cooling system checked by a professional to avoid further damage to the engine.

If Your Car Overheats What Should You Do?

Pull Over Safely:

As soon as you notice the engine is overheating (temperature gauge in the red or a warning light), pull over to a safe location. Continuing to drive can cause severe engine damage.

Turn Off the Engine:

Turn off the engine to prevent it from overheating further. Let it cool down for at least 15-20 minutes before opening the hood. To inspect any damdges that may have occured.

Call for roadside assistance or a tow truck to get your car to a mechanic for proper diagnosis and repair.
